Living on the land is an amazing feeling. Here are some of our animals we share our days with.
Animals have always been part of my life! I grew up on land in country Victoria. As a child we had potty lambs/calves, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, birds, dogs and cats. It was our responsibility to feed and water the animals and take care of their everyday needs. This allowed us to develop animal husbandry skills, as well as give us daily responsibilities which I have taken into adulthood. I can’t ever remember not having animals in my life.
As an adult I now teach VET Animal Care and Secondary Agriculture at a Trade Training Facility. My husband and I have merino breeding ewes and breed for the fat lamb market and also replacement ewes. I also work with animals using self healing techniques with herbs and essential oils, developing my knowledge and skills of Caroline Ingraham’s method, of animal self medication and Zoopharmacognosy. I love watching the animals smelling and ingesting the herbs and essential oils when they require them. This method is something animals in the wild have been doing for so many years. We have so much to learn from them in regards to self healing!
I love having animals in my life and really enjoy teaching my children and students best practices when it comes to animal care. I can’t ever imagine my life without animals and love sharing my journey with others.
